Are you a little sad that you won't see any more pictures of my 12 days of Christmas after this week? Today's post is brought you by gift #3, THE UPS MAN'S BEST FRIEND. I'm pretty sure my sister e-ster robbed a book store this year. We got A LOT of books. I love books, so this is not a bad thing. But either she knocked over Annie's Book Swap (which, incidentally, I noticed our local one is closed. It's a franchise, I guess, because I've actually seen them elsewhere) or she and the UPS man are bosom buddies due to her online buying. My mother added a few here too. But it seemed like people kept opening books that e-ster said were from her. And now that I look, a-ster gave me at least one of these.
And k-ster is fuming because that means more book reading, less staring at him, and this equals the evilness of books. They take me away. How dare they. I want to know, do you see a movie in your head when you read? I hear that there are people who don't. I just don't know what happens in your brain when you don't see a movie of what you read. It must be so sad. Tell me what you see when you read. As a reading teacher, and I have many papers that prove I am, though my recent inability to read may prove otherwise, I really want to know what goes on in other people's brains.
Tune in tomorrow for the second to last day of my 12 Days of Christmas. It's a SLICE OF WONDERFUL.
I grow things, I ride things, I bake things, I can things, I sew things and I make things. Sit with me on Aunt Mildred's Porch to witness this crazy journey I call my life and share the fun, laughter and utter foolishness that I come across from day to day. If you don't want to see pictures of my butt, you should just move along.

i don't know how to NOT see the characters in books in my head when i'm reading. i'm going to try next time and see what happens. maybe my brain will implode.
ReplyDeletei see you got jonathan franzen's 'freedom'. i just read an article on him in GQ the other day. LOVED 'the corrections.' let me know how 'freedom' is...
Yay!!! I love, love, love to see people reading books. The publishing industry is in peril right now and we all need to read more. Well, except for you.
ReplyDeleteAnd I always see the movie in my head, characters and all.
